Kelly Beach ("Big" Beach)
Just a short walk from the house is the public access to this expansive sandy beach. Its mile-long shore is surrounded by beautiful cliffs. The boardwalk access is just 4/10 of a mile from you door with a bus that runs you back and forth on the weekend. Even closer is the side entry, which is just a short walk down the access road, surrounded by reeds and beautiful ponds where swans like to swim. Ride the waves, baste in the sun, or build a castle in the sand as you take it all in. This place is a beach-goers dream.
Know to the locals as “Little Beach” this rocky-shored knoll offers a change of scenery. With its long jetty, where kids can enjoy crabbing or fishing, this beach gives you more options than just swimming and sun bathing. On the opposite side of the jetty is the community’s boat launch and marina, where you can watch the boats come and go or launch your own boat for the day. With its beautiful views of Newport and Jamestown bridges and the Dutch Island Light House, it’s a true New England beach experience.
